John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum

Celebrate President Kennedy's 100th birthday this Memorial Day weekend at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum! Completed in 1979, the museum has served to preserve and provide access to a variety of historical documents and other materials related to President Kennedy and his lifetime. Head to Columbia Point for a day filled with great views and information about the life and legacy of our 35th president!

The museum is composed of 10 permanent exhibits and several special exhibits that change after a period of time. The permanent exhibits cover a variety of important events and people in Kennedy's life, including the road to his election, Robert Kennedy's time as Attorney General, the space program, and First Lady Jackie Kennedy. The artifacts featured in these exhibits range from campaign buttons and posters to video clips of press conferences to a recording of Kennedy's entire inaugural address.

In commemoration of JFK's 100th birthday this Memorial Day, the museum is hosting a variety of events throughout the days leading up to it. It has also developed a brand new special exhibit, JFK 100: Milestones and Mementos. The exhibit displays milestones in Kennedy's career, administration, and personal life with items specially selected from the Kennedy Library. It will open on May Online speech writing 26th and remain open for only one year!

The events leading up to Kennedy's birthday include a commemoration for the Peace Corps, and a special presentation on the space program, featuring a NASA astronaut and engineer. On Memorial Day, the museum will host a day long event featuring things like the U.S Naval Band, a ceremonial cake cutting, free entry to the museum, and a flyover by the U.S Navy.
